Mapping the world

In ICT we are currently learning about map software and how extra information can be included to make them more useful.

On Thursday, we will be going out in the local area (please return your slips!) to take some photographs which we will then put into a map using Google Earth to help share some information about road safety.

We will also be learning how to use online mapping tools such as google maps.

We may be using the following links in the ICT lessons this week. All will be explained then! Meanwhile, feel free to explore them yourself:

Election Time!

We have had a very busy start to year 6. One of the most exciting events has been the elections for Head Girl and Head Boy. All of the candidates performed excellent speeches on Thursday, getting over their nerves to explain why they deserved  the most votes. On Friday, we had a proper polling station set up in the hall, ably supervised by volunteers from Year 6. The votes are now being counted and the winner will be announced in assembly on Monday 17th September. Further elections will follow to select the heads of our four school 'houses' (Rubies, Diamonds, Sapphires, and Emeralds).
